Wayne Bramlette single handedly started fabricating tow trucks in 1970. The quality of Wayne Built tow trucks are such high quality that many of the units remain in use today. Currently Wayne Built runs two of the custom fabricated tow trucks in their fleet. Tow truck bodies were sold and installed to surrounding truck dealerships to be delivered new from the showroom floor to the customer. Wayne Built opened shop in Riverdale, Illinois for a couple of years before purchasing the 7-acre site at 1201 W.Vermont Street, Calumet Park, Illinois. Wayne Built & Son was able to expand as they now had the accommodations for a truck repair shop and truck salvage yard.  The truck repair operation with the new multiple tractor trailer bays was a natural progression. During the 80’s Wayne Built started supplying buyers from Mexico, Central America, South America, Africa and the Middle East with new & used trucks and parts.  The export business proved to be a valuable asset to the company and helped it progress to be a dominant sales force in the heavy-duty industry.
